Hello, I’m Steven
I teach from the mess, not from the mountaintop.
Stillness in the Storms is a podcast for anyone going through something hard. No quick fixes. No “everything happens for a reason”. No advice from a man who has never had a bad week.
Nothing I share is theoretical.
I am Steven Webb. In 1991, at eighteen, I dived into a swimming pool and broke my neck. I have been paralysed from the chest down ever since. The Cornwall Air Ambulance flew me to hospital that day; I am now one of their ambassadors.
Meditation did not fix my life. It changed how I meet it. That difference, between fixing and meeting, is what most episodes end up being about, whether the week's subject is anger, grief, pain or a mind that will not be quiet.
Away from the microphone I am a Cornwall councillor and a former Mayor of Truro. I also make Inner Peace Meditations, short guided meditations for minds that won't be quiet, and write one honest email a week called Weekly Calm.
How the podcast works
A new episode most weeks, usually around sixteen minutes. Each one names a pattern, offers one reframe and one small practice you can actually do. There are no adverts and no sponsors, and it stays that way. Listener support keeps it free for everyone.
If you are new, start with the latest episode or browse the archive.

One calm email.
Every Sunday.
A little space to pause, a practical thought to take into the week, and a reminder that you’re not doing this alone.
